Can I get a "Free" brake inspection and not have the work done?
the coupons are allways intended to lure you in and find something which will be to make money out of you.
so be prepared for the free inspection to be a ,you must do this and that and it,s not safe to drive unless you let them do any work.
so how to tell if you really need the brakes worked on now.
the brake fluid level will be low from natural wear and will be up to its normal level after the brake pads and or shoes are replaced.
if the brakes make a grinding noise when braking it will be from one of the pads having lost its surface and is down to metal on the rotors.
the rotors(or disc) will need a surface grind to get it all strait again
in that case it will be more expensive to wait longer as the disc becomes totally unusable if you wait too long.
same goes for drum brakes.
so yes you can do what you suggest and just have a inspection for peace of mind, but they will try, expect it and be ready for the doom diagnoses.
so are the brakes working like they should or are they grinding and squeeking, pulling to one side, and not stopping in time?
you are the judge.
